Music Portraits
One of my favorite things to do is dive into a new creative project, losing myself for hours in the process while the music plays on in the background. It’s such a perfect way to blend focus and flow. I thought it would be a great way to enjoy some time with Procreate - just experimenting with ideas, creating artwork that reflects the mood of certain tracks or visually interpreting their stories while listening to good tunes, and bringing in inspiration from some of my favorite artists.

1. Blanck Mass
Having been a fan during when Ben Power was with F*ck Buttons, the big change was the release of his personal work as ‘Blanck Mass’. After 3 albums of crazy, heavy and beautiful music, he was the first I chose to draw.

2. Jimmy Chamberlain
The Smashing Pumpkins were always my favourite of the Grunge era… During that time, there were some many great drummers, but Jimmy was the best. A legend. After using the standard brush on Procreate, I was getting to grips with the standard 6B pencil. I loved the texture it would bring.

3. Thom Yorke
Radiohead have always been my favourite. Just the greatest living band: Always pushing the boundries, always creating such beautiful and creative music. After seeing them on the OK Computer & In Rainbows tour (no biggie), they will always be the best. I wanted this illustration to have more of a vector / cleaner look.

4. St. Vincent
I went back to using the pencil brush in Procreate and wanted to draw St. Vincent. She's such a creative artist and an incredible guitarist. Ive got so much time for her work.

5. Ghostpoet
There's a track of his music in almost every playlist I have. It's perfectly meloncholic, dark and awesome! This drawing felt like the most complete of the series.
